30 years of hands on experience in top blue chip establishments locally and internationally, heading the One Stop Unit of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (2010 – 13) and show casing Sri Lanka as a Conference destination all over India for Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (2007 – 2010). Consulting for “US AID Core” and Asia Foundation on Tourism inspired Nimalka Morahela a veteran tourism expert to establish HnA Consulting and Events. After venturing out on her own in 2004 just after the Tsunami and gaining exposure, coordinating international television crews such as NBC USA, ITN London, ABC Australia as well as having opportunities to work with Batey Public Relations Singapore coordinating their Visiting Journalist Programme, setting up “Sri Lanka in Style” she decided it was time to venture out on her own. Sri Lanka being an island with many unique attractions for leisure and business gave way to limitless possibilities to further this endeavor.

Nimalka was our local fixer/producer for a major Aljazeera Television shoot in 2007. With Nimalka’s expert help we were able to set up, film and produce six investigative news feature stories which broke new ground in storytelling and were well received across the globe. Nimalka was front and centre of making these stories happen. Her local knowledge and contacts, her tireless ‘can do’ attitude and her connections with all sectors of society were invaluable and key to our successful production. Not only was Nimalka a great local producer, she was also able to act as our location scout with her intimate knowledge of the best place to film the story no matter what the topic. In 2006 Nimalka Morahela set up a shoot for our 15 minute tv story on human – elephant conflict in Sri Lanka.
